Suc-AAA-pNA is a sensitive substrate for human, rat leukocyte and porcine pancreatic elastases. Reactions are monitored by measuring an increase in the absorbance signal at 405-410 nm. Suc-AAA-pNA is also hydrolyzed by proteinase K, subtilisins and thermitase.
